James B. “Buck” McCabe is senior vice president, finance and chief financial officer for Chick-fil-A, Inc., responsible for accounting, finance, treasury, taxation, employee benefits, risk management, information technology, corporate administration and Cathy family financial planning.

Buck began his career with the company in 1978 as corporate accountingmanager. Soon after, he was promoted to assistant controller, controller, vice president and then to vice president and chief financial officer in 1982. In 1995, he was named senior vice president, finance and chief financial officer and is a member of the CFA Executive Committee.

Prior to joining Chick-fil-A, Mr. McCabe spent four years as an auditor with internationalaccounting firm Peat Marwick, which is now KPMG. Buck holds a master’s degree in business administration and an undergraduate degree in accounting from The College of William and Mary. In 1991, he graduated from the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program. He is a Certified Public Accountant and served as a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Army.

He serves as a Trustee on the Fellowship of Christian Athletes' National Board of Trustees. He is also active in the Atlanta Metro Fellowship of Christian Athletes. A native of Roanoke, Virginia, Buck is married to the former Susan Metzger and has three children, Karen, Jim and Nancy.
